Milk Does a Body Good

Layla had her 4 month doctor's appointment on Tuesday and it went really well. She weighed in at 13lb 13oz (47th percentile!) and measured 23 inches long (7th percentile). We are a little confused by the height stats, but we're sure it will all work out eventually. Maybe she will just be a little peanut :-)

Layla's made great strides with tummy time lately and the doctor always checks out our girlie in action with tummy time. Layla did great, and was in the push-up, neck up, head up position and then rolled over for the doctor! It was very funny that Layla was pulling out all of her tricks and the doctor was really excited about the progress that has been made in this area.

Crib update--- nighttime is going well in the crib, but naptimes did not make the transition as well (isn't it normally the opposite problem?) I am trying really hard to get the crib to work out for naptime, but it is not going so great. I am not sure why it is different day versus night, but I've tried swaddling, putting blankets over the curtains, etc but Layla typically ends up back in the swing. This method is not going to last for long because our little lady is going to completely outgrow the swing eventually. With perfect timing, Ryan's coworker just gave us a sleep book and I am currently reading my way through it. Maybe it will help with some of these napping problems.

You are all updated and I need to get busy and take advantage of this naptime (yes, Layla's sleeping in her crib...for now!).

Morning -

She'll get the hang of nap time in the crib - you just don't worry. Congrats on all her stats - you and Ryan are doing a wonderful job.
Remember - being smaller than most only shows on the outside - it's what inside that counts.

Love,
